You are underfunding our knowledge institutions. CSIRO, National Library and therefore Trove, TAFE, schools etc. You are underfunding our future. Not clever Malcolm.

Malcolm you are not honouring your believes in climate change and the need for research into renewables that’s the way of the future not dirty coalmines and sacking our brilliant scientists .Money will be useless when our earth is stuffed !!!!! please reconsider .I don’t believe in start ups here today gone tomorrow . You need to nurture the CSIRO such a brilliant institution .How can you even expect young people to do science there won’t even be jobs for the ones you have and are going to sack .It is shameful .

Malcolm, as the voice of innovation and science you are a failure. You have adopted the Abbott stance and for that you should be sacked on July 2. Good bye.

I always have voted liberal in the past but now that your party represents your cronys and not us, and now that your polices are benefiting what ever lobby group you are selling your soul to instead of representing we the people,my vote is going to independents that will call you out on your corrupt ways and make it impossible to play these games.

Update your policies and change your ways or loose the support of the Australian public.

I am a Professional Engineer, close to retirement, having worked all my career in industry and mining. I wish you well, and support the need for innovation and continued development of our engineering and technical skills.


However, I have real concerns that the rhetoric is not supported by policies and actions. I do not understand why you would continue the major cuts to the CSIRO implemented by the Abbott Govt. I am also concerned by the real lack of job prospects for STEM graduates. Sadly, the major companies no longer support graduate jobs, and I know of several recent engineering graduates who unable to obtain engineering employment are continuing their student part time jobs. This to me is a major issue for our country, and one that needs to be addressed to achieve your vision.

Cuts to CSIRO represent the most short-sighted of all the actions the government has taken, and that’s saying something. An Abbott appointment to head up the organisation sewed the seeds of disaster. Malcolm …you are too intelligent to allow this to happen !

When you took over from the unlamented Tony I actually thought that with a good human being like yourself I would be finding it a definite to vote for you: alas! We now have Tony lite – it’s not enough to be articulate and good mannered – you need some pep-up passion in your make-over too!

CSIRO has been a world leader in innovation and Scientific research for decades. The world has many great inventions thanks to the work of the CSIRO

Please stop destroying one of our most valuable assets.

I work for CSIRO for thirteen years. I am proud of being a member of this 100 year old organisation and wish to contribute my expertise to the public good science locally and globally as long as I can.

However, the damage/cut to CSIRO in the recent years is devastating. It took a hundred year to build up the world leading research capacity, but can be destroyed so easily.

I myself is a second generation scientist. My father is a computer scientist overseas. Although I didn’t follow his path, I became a life scientist instead. As a parent, how will I encourage our children to devote themselves to the science world in the future? Almost all the other countries’ governments increased the fund to scientific research, Australia seems to be the only odd one to cut the fund, to cut the most advanced areas.

Dear Mr. Turnbull, regardless how long you will serve as a prime minister, I wish you to be remembered as a wise one. Australia’s future strongly needs invest in science. It is fundamental!

Australia is going backwards. By undermining CSIRO. We need these scientists and research more than ever. SAVE our CSIRO and our amazing scientists who have worked tirelessly for our country and the good of mankind. They are rightly respected throughout the world.

As an Australian, I am extremely proud of or CSIRO and its ongoing fundamental research. Cutting climate research in favour of mitigation is so obviously Liberal Ideology driven. At this critical time we need more not loess climate research and for the political base to take at face value what the scientists are telling them. These cuts and the 70% funding reduction with another50% to come MUST BE STOPPED. This is an absolute disgrace and will seriously reduce Australia’s standing in the international community. These actions are the antithesis of the “Clever Country” that you are espousing. Get Real!
