For months we’ve been asking Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to step in and stop the cuts to climate science at the CSIRO – now secret tapes have revealed that the Government's attitiude towards climate science is behind the cuts.

'It's a fundamental shift away from curiosity-led research toward impact... The federal government was CSIRO's most important 'customer', and it no longer wanted what the climate scientists were selling.

'I don't mean to be insensitive,' said Dr Marshall, 'but you have to get real about your customer.'"

    The CSIRO has always fostered the best in scientific endeavour and has provided our country with innovations in science beyond all we could hope to achieve. Are we not in the innovation business Mr Turnbull?

    The CSIRO has been politicised and under-funded by a government of climate-change denying fools. Larry Marshall should be sacked, and funding restored.

    The Prime Minister is happy to meet with big business, banks and anyone who will provide campaign funds. It is about time that he revealed the ‘true’ Malcolm Turnbull and met with the people who have the capacity to transcend politics and help deal with the realities of climate change.

    About time he realised the economy is PART of the environment NOT the other way around.

    The future of our planet relies on us making change NOW with regards to climate control…. making cuts to the CSIRO is definitely not going to help us! We should be funding them more & listening to the climate science coming from the CSIRO & using this information to make informed steps towards reversing climate change and saving our planet.

    Please don’t cut off funds to the most important research of our time through the CSIRO. We need this organisation more not less.

    I am concerned about the massive reduction in funding for the CSIRO. We cannot afford to lose our scientists to other countries, we need them to here to contribute to our future welfare.
