I Love ABC

“I love ABC” is a non-profit CPSU Proud to be Public campaign. The CPSU is the largest ABC staff union and has been advocating for the ABC and ABC workers since the ABC’s inception in 1932.

Whether it’s watching Play School as child, debating Triple J’s Hottest 100 with friends, tuning into your favourite Radio National program, anxiously monitoring emergency broadcasts or keeping up-to-date with the latest news and current affairs, the ABC plays a critical and essential role in informing and shaping our views about Australian life and contributing to our sense of national identity.

The breadth and depth of ABC programs and services are currently under threat from a handful of minority interest groups. Their agendas are not focused on the needs of the 80% of Australians who trust and use the ABC. They are based on ideological zeal for privatisation, quests for media domination and profit, and a desire to silence dissent. Those who seek to attack the ABC have deep pockets and loud voices which is why we need your help to fight for the future of our ABC

About the ABC

The ABC is one of the building blocks of Australian society – a fair and impartial media that’s free of ads and free to access for everyone.

Every parent understands the important role the ABC plays for kids, but our national broadcaster also plays a crucial role in the social fabric of our country, providing news that matters to all Australians and telling local stories for regional areas.
