Simon, ABC

This is Simon. Simon grew up on the Hawksbury River, he’s a keen cyclist and a pub trivia aficionado. He’s also a former ABC journalist.

Simon had always had a passion for the news and believes it was a great privilege to work for the ABC. Whilst working for the ABC Simon covered everything from breaking news to election cycles and he and his colleagues loved the fact that they were working to inform the public, and not represent media moguls.

Every day many Australians, like Simon, who work at the ABC, keep us informed and entertained. These public broadcasters are our neighbours, our friends and our family. Their success is measured not in profit, but in better informed communities and stronger people. We all benefit from our public broadcasters being in public hands – run for us, by people like us, telling local stories.

About the ABC

The ABC is one of the building blocks of Australian society – a fair and impartial media that’s free of ads and free to access for everyone.

Every parent understands the important role the ABC plays for kids, but our national broadcaster also plays a crucial role in the social fabric of our country, providing news that matters to all Australians and telling local stories for regional areas.
